Geocache Description:

JESUS NAZARENO is another cemetery in the Ranchos de Taos area. Ranchos de Taos was an Indian farming site in 1716. Apache raids led to the sites abandoment but was resettled by the end of the 18th century by the Spanish and has been a settlement ever since.

There is a Morada at this cemetery. A Morada is a Church where the Penitente's worshiped. The Sect Los Hermanos Penitente's (the Pentitente Brothers) was a fraternal order society active throughout the 19th and 20th centuries in Northern New Mexico.

Spirit caches are a series placed at or near NM cemeteries in hopes of paying respect to the Pioneer Ancestors having "gone" on before us, and, possibly picking up a bit of history of the area.

This cache is located in the area of the Morada. It is a well camo'd bison tube and please put it back exactly where you find it. The original cache container disappeared for the third time so decided to move it. The new cords are N36 21.587 W105 35.936.
