Geocache Description:

In February 2012, fifty five (yes 55!) members of West Bromwich Mountaineering Club (WMBC) headed north for their annual February winter week, made popular by Nev & Ann Tandy at various hotels in Newtonmore.
For the first time in about 20 years the week wasn't based close to the Cairngorms but instead we stopped at a huge hotel on the north side of Fort William (where "BATB Central" https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC3VZ4A_batb-central# can be found).
This spot on an access route to Cow Hill seems a more pleasant location for a cache, however, although it is quite a way up above the town. It is possible to drive very close if you can find the right roads (Argyll & Kennedy Roads) from the many that zig-zag upwards or alternatively you can follow the buses up to where they turn around - it's not far to walk from there!
Initially the cache was a small Morrisons food pot containing a log book and pencil but it has now changed a couple of times. Geocachers in wheelchairs might need help to retrieve the container which is at ground level. Please rehide it well so that the it does not show as the local youth seem to meet up here for a drink sometimes! Oh and watch out for SLUGS!

I'm very grateful to bisnonno for saying that he will help me maintain this cache in the event that this proves necessary and for being true to his word. His replacement of the cache in April 2018 when I failed to make Fort William in February was exceeding helpful and he did the same a few months later in November- in fact without him this cache would have been closed down. Many thanks John.
An now I have to thank LVTeds for putting my latest container in place during the COVID-19 pandemic in November 2020. Sadly this went missing and there were a string of DNF's in 2023 before the eagle eyes of CambridgeOtter and FenlandLass spotted a squashed geocaching tube out in the open and rescued it, replacing it as per the hint! Many thanks indeed for all your help.
