Geocache Description:

This event is designed to help new and newer geocachers and those interested in knowing more about the game by showing how to get involved in this great hobby. With many new/newer geocachers in the Tri-State area, some have been asking for a Geocaching beginner's seminar, something that helps one know how to get started working with the website to locate caches to seek, how to find caches, basics of logging, GPS usage, and more.

While this event is being held as an extension of an annual sportsman's event, it is set up as an early session. This program runs from 1pm to 2pm. There will be other outdoor-sporting sessions going on the rest of the day, but this geocaching session is set apart from the rest and there is no need to pay for admission to the others to participate in this.

At this geocaching session, besides the basic introduction to geocaching, attendees can expect to learn the following: what kind of GPS units are available for geocaching? how do I log geocaches? how can I store/organize my geocaching data? do's and don'ts in hiding caches; What is available on geocaching.com with a basic membership? How can I get the most out of a premium membership?

If you've heard about geocaching and are curious to learn more, or have been caching for a little while but want to know more about the game or using the Geocaching website, come out and join us for this event.
