Geocache Description:

The month of February is filled with special days to celebrate such as Groundhog's Day, President's Day,and Valentine's Day. February is also known for being "National Children’s Dental Health Month" and "American Heart Month". Of course, February is famous for hosting Leap Day which comes every four years on February 29th. I have decided to celebrate Leap Year 2012 by releasing 29 caches celebrating the lesser known special days in February. I hope you enjoy this series entitled "Leap Into Caching!”

Leap Into Caching #3: The Day the Music Died. This day is set aside to remember the untimely death of three music icons Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and the Big Bopper. They perished in a plane crash on February 3, 1959. The song “American Pie” by Don McLean is reported to be a tribute to these three.
