Geocache Description:

Explore the Heart of Hilliard in 200 Minutes! #1
Heritage Rail Trail

This is #1 in the series of caches published for the Explore the Heart of Hilliard in 200 Minutes! GC3ACGW event held May 12, 2012. Destination Hilliard received a large grant to have artists create 20 art boxes that will contain a journal and artist stamp for Geocaching. These works of art will be placed in 20 locations throughout Hilliard. Locations of the works of art were selected based upon the 200th Birthday theme of Columbus - honoring the past, celebrating the present and envisioning the future.

"Hilliard has many different sizes and places. While I have lived in Hilliard for all 18 years of my life, I have enjoyed many things. My favorite thing would be the vast supply of endless nature. In Hilliard, I have always loved riding my bike for miles and miles on Rails to Trails. The open air and sky always made me feel relaxed and relieved of any stress I had in my life. Another great part of Hilliard is Homestead Park. Every year on my birthday, since I could walk, my family went to Homestead Park and took pictures. While I grew from year to year in the pictures, the park stayed the same. It has always been a special place to my family and me. Lastly, I used so much green on this box because it represents the hours upon which I spent outside, running, biking, hiking, and enjoying the greatest gifts Hilliard has to offer, the great outdoors."
