The cache is hidden in the Namib Nauklauft Park near Mirabib Camping Site; overlooking the gravel plains of the Namib Desert. An excellent place to enjoy a sunset!
The cache is hidden in the Namib Nauklauft Park near Mirabib Camping Site. This camping site is in the Namib Region of the park and is unmanned and with no facilities, except for a “bush” toilet and fire place. Petrol, water and firewood are not available in the park and campers/visitors must be self-sustained. The gravel roads in the park are normally good, although some sections require a 4x4 vehicle. It is however possible to reach Mirabib with a sedan car or any other 4x2 vehicle. Please be advised that a permit must be obtained in advance in Windhoek or Swakopmund from the offices of Namibia Wildlife Resorts to visit Mirabib, as well as all the other camping sites in the park, as they are off the public main roads running through the park. The permit may possibly also be available in Walvis Bay (enquire at travel agents in Walvis Bay). The cache is hidden in a plastic ice-cream container under some small rocks. It contains the following items: a note book, pencil, sharpener and 2 x Namibia (Swakopmund) book marks. The first 3 items should remain in the container and only the book marks be traded.
