IT HAPPENS EVERY 4 YEARS!!!!
Yep, you got it, its a leap day cache and a multi one at that. You could use this for claiming a find for caches put out on leap day (since there are not many of those around. This wont be a horrible 10 stage multi cache. Heck, I would never do that to you. However, it will be a 2 stage plus the final. I wont tell you what the cache containers but I assure you that you will not have trouble finding them and hopefully they will stay in place.
The listed coords are for the first stage of the multi. Each stage will be a bit of a on site puzzle, a process of elimination, nothing real tough. At WP 1, I will have a little surprise for you Garmin carriers that can "hear" the birdies chirp. :-) At the final, I plan to leave a couple of nice FTF gifts. Please only take one as I would like the first three caches to get a nifty gift for their efforts on this.
I will give you a little info for each waypoint.
WP1 - Listed coordinates - a bit of a bushwack but not too bad. I attempted to move some of the prickly things out of the way. Several feet off the trail. Watch for thorns. About 7 ft off trail. Watch for biking muggles. Please hide it well.
WP2 - obvious location, not too hard. Please rehide well. Just about 3 ft off the trail behind obvious fixture. Watch for muggles and please cover well.
Final - Not too tough. A couple feet off the trail. Shouldnt be too hard to locate. Again, watch for muggles please rehide well.
I will also list parking coords. Please park there and do pay attention to the attributes. I am marking as NOT a night cache. The gate does get locked at night and I do not want cachers stuck at the parking coords. Also, if you dont have NW trails downloaded on your GPSr, you really should have it. Where the cache and waypoints are located, there are a ton of trails in this area. Without NW Trails on your GPSr, it will be easy to get lost and harder to find the waypoints and the cache. The trails in the area are dirt/mud. Fairly flat though there are some minimal elevation gains out here. All in all, not too bad. The total hike is easily less than a mile and more like a half a mile or less.
Enjoy the hunt and please feel free to post more than a "found it or TFTC" note. Please elaborate your caching experience. The CO does read these and enjoys the posts.
Good luck and uh, HAPPY LEAP YEAR!
A big three-way congrats to the FTF crew of Terrible Ts, McMorrows and FugeFinders. Congrats, gang!
