Geocache Description:

This Two for One cache is situated on scrub land attached to an aptly named watering hole? – You will see once you get there!
You are looking for a camo. specimen tube container with a log only so please bring a pencil. There is nearby parking, just off the Countess Way. Coordinates the average of multiple readings - happy hunting

Little Owl - the original 'wise old owl' – classical mythology states that an owl was the symbol of Pallas Athene, the patron of Athens and goddess of wisdom. Ancient coins show that her owl was none other than the Little Owl which is reflected in is modern scientific name - Athene noctua

The Little Owl is Britain’s smallest owl and is the only resident owl deliberately introduced into this country, some 200 or so years ago. The owls were comical characters and regularly bought as household pets, as they were champion cockroach killers. Many were set free leading, eventually to the establishment of little owls as breeding residents in Britain. Today they are the second most common British owl. You are more likely to see one accidentally rather than specially going out to look for one, often seen perched on fence posts in broad daylight. When hunting, the little owl watches for prey from a low perch such as a fence post, stump or low wall and often resorts to running along the ground in pursuit of prey.

Like the owl, Littleowl1 are mainly day time cachers, but will cache at night if there is a need. When caching we will often stop and watch from a suitable vantage point seeking out the cache and can be seen running along the ground in search of the odd FTF. Just like the Owl, we like farmland, cultivated fields and hedges, parks and scrub / wasteland with scattered trees, we also like (unlike the Little owl) canals and mountainous areas. Out for the fun of the chase we spread our wings across Britain, as the distribution of the Little Owl, on a walk, run, ride or drive with a chance to cache, if it comes with a view even better.

The Two for One reference may be of interest, if I am around (visit link)

You could always stop off at the watering hole ........happy and safe hunting

Well done Fancysnave on the FTF
