Geocache Description:

This cache is located along the dirt road that parallels the Pablo Feeder Canal that feeds water to Pablo Reservoir. The water originates in the Mission Mountains.

There are more than 1,200 miles of irrigation canals and 17 reservoirs on the Flathead Reservation. The canals provide water delivery to approximately 127,000 acres. The Flathead Irrigation and Power Project on the Flathead Reservation began about 1907. This is a small camouflaged cache about 4" high, containing a log book and a small pencil.
The original cache was contained in a statue of 3 turtles sitting on top of each other - hence the name. Unfortunately, someone took the cache in 2019, darn it!
There is no need to go near the water during the summer months, please watch children and pets when the water is running. This cache is accessed from Skyline Drive just south of Polson. You can park at the junction of Pablo Feeder Canal and Skyline Drive or drive the half a mile west to the cache. The road is rough and muddy at times so 4WD of high clearance might be advisable.
