Burrows Best Traditional Cache
jimmerbowl: Too many home responsibilities to maintain this cache. I'm now taking care of my wife (logchapelbarb) who suffered a severe stroke.

This cache is located within the confines of Washington Park, on its southern edge, in the Marine Tidal Zone of Burrows Bay. It has been placed with permission of the City of Anacortes Parks and Recreation Department. A completed application and signed permit are on file.
Washington Park lies within the City of Anacortes, and features a boat launch, day-use picnic area and play equipment, camping, hiking, and beachcombing. A scenic 2.2 mile paved single lane one-way loop road offers spectacular natural scenery and trail access points. The Park is open year-round, and for pedestrians, the loop road is open from 6AM to 10PM. Vehicular use is allowed from 10AM to dusk. Use of this road will facilitate reaching the cache site. There are parking spots and restrooms along the way.
The cache is situated in a beautiful spot and receives ample sunshine even during winter months. It is accessed by foot, mostly along the established trail system. As you approach the cache site, there has developed a scramble trail. The cache, a silver bison, is hidden near the top of a rock buttress off the end of this trail. There is no need to climb down to the mussel line; however, at low tide under calm conditions, this lower level area is a great place to explore tidal pool sea life.
Resource Damage Potential - very low. Cache has not been placed near fragile plants or soil. Nothing need be broken apart or mauled. Simply lift a small stone, but when finished, replace it exactly as found, for camo. The cache has been placed so that it is completely concealed, yet in a position so not to be taken out by any wave or wind action.
Dangers - Trail is steep in a couple of places, and should only be hiked by agile cachers who don't have extreme fear of heights. The trail is safest when its surface is dry.
I originally placed the cache during a time of high tide during a windstorm, which only enhanced viewing the bay's water at its angriest. Have fun, be safe, and take many pics. BYOP.
