The Oakglen was originally launched in November 1953 with the name T.R. McLagan, a part of the Canada Steamship Lines fleet.
It became a part of the P.&H. Shipping fleet in 1988, and renamed it Oakglen. In 2001 this boat returned to the original owner to haul grain.
The boat is a wheelhouse forward straight-deck. Unfortunately this boat was scrapped in 2004.
The Boat is just over 714 feet in length and has a maximum load capacity of 22,950 tons. It is powered by a 8,500 horsepower steam turbine engine.
