Picnic Excuse Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

MadMin: I attempted to contact the owner of Picnic Excuse to find out about the status of this cache on March 5, 2008. I have received no response from the owner on the cache page or via email. Because of that I'm afraid I have to archive this cache.

I will be more than happy to review this cache again and (hopefully) reinstate it once you have corrected any issues with the cache. please contact me via ma.reviewer@gmail.com to do so.

Please note that unarchiving a cache page places it through the same review process as a newly proposed cache, using the cache placement guidelines currently in effect.

Geocache Description:

A small cache in a small park, a good place to stop for lunch and to have a picnic.

This is a very small cache that shouldn't take long too find. I'd suggest stopping for lunch on the way to another cache hunt... call it a "warm up cache

The cache is in an excellent picnic area. There are plenty of benches and I know there used to be charcoal grills, but I forget if they are still there.

It's less than 2 minutes from a parking area. This small cache (in white tupperware container) contains:

Baseball cards
Log book & pencil
Roll of pennies
2 Band-Aids
Small roll of yellow caution tape.

GOOD LUCK!

This park has some common ties to Borderland as it was the site of Ames Shovel Works in the 1700's. Learn about WB Park Day (sept 15, 2002) and some history of the park here: http://www.wbparkday.com Due to the high # of DNF's, I increased difficulty level. Who would have guessed something so simple would be so hard to find. Not a beginner's cache. Easy to get to (2 min walk from car) still, hard to find....
