Geocache Description:

The cache is a magnetic nano located next to the car park at the Dollan Aqua centre.

The Dollan Aqua Centre (locally known as the Dollan Baths) opened in 1968 and was the first Olympic length (50m) swimming pool in Scotland. It was designed by Alexander Buchanan Campbell who was reputedly influenced by Kenzo Tange who designed the gymnasium for the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. The Dollan’s arched roof appears to be held down by pairs of 'V' shaped struts and due to its unique design was listed as a Category A building by Historic Scotland in 2002. The building was closed between 2008 and 2011 to allow for repair work and refurbishment to be carried out and in 2011 the Dollan Aqua Centre hosted the swimming events in the Commonwealth Children's Games. Ample car parking is available next to the cache. If you need to park for an hour it only costs 10p.
