Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the Ojito Wilderness Study Area. Easy to moderate terrain at an altitude of 5,768 ft.

This is an ammo box cache and includes a log-in book, pen, hot wheels car, pen knife, polished rock, light-up sparkle ball, belt-clip key ring, and a mini first aid kit. Because this is the desert where there are rattlesnakes, it should be pointed out that it is not hidden under a rock, ledge, or in a crevice. Take Highway 550 towards Cuba, and turn on Cabezon Rd., just past Mile Marker 21 south of San Ysidro. Take the left fork and drive through the Zia Indian Reservation. The BLM has an agreement with the Pueblo to allow access. When you get to the fence (4 miles) marking the beginning of the Wilderness Study Area, go another 5.5 miles to coordinates: N 35 29.791' W 106 53.905'

This is where you should park off the right side of the road. From there begin walking! It's about a half-mile hike. It should be noted that there are no marked trails, and the most direct route is not necessarily the best!

This is a remote area so take water! Hiking boots are also suggested.
