Paulsberg Bonus: Frozen Finger

The cache is hidden a short distance off the trail up to the summit of this dramatic and easily accessible 367m peak in the Cape of Good Hope section of the Table Mountain National Park (Access fee: R85/person or free for Wild Card holders).
I had originally hoped to hide it up on the summit ridge but was unable to get enough separation from the Paulsberg Beacon cache which I had just placed. On the way back down and at a suitable distance, I spotted this likely looking rocky outcrop with fine views towards Buffels Bay and Cape Point, and then the rocky finger feature which decided the best hide location.
It is hoped that the placing of this cache and the one at the top (to join the existing Virtual Cache) will persuade more cachers to make the relatively but highly rewarding short detour up to the spectacular Paulsberg summit ridge.
To reach the cache:
Park at the Booi Se Skerm parking area @ S34 18.333 E18 27.745 just past the old Lime Kiln and take the trail starting @ S34 18.315 E18 27.713 heading up the small valley. Follow this clear trail as it winds its way up past Holey Cache! GCSE2RA and then to and beyond Kanonkop (location of MnCo’s Kanonkop cache GC21FVN) as far as the cairn @ S34 17.773 E18 27.664.
From the cairn head (right) east up the mountain slope along the clear trail, generally well marked with cairns. When you reach the small cairn @ S34 17.699 E18 27.756 head a short distance off trail across the rocks to the cache location. The rocky finger should be clearly visible from a distance away.
The cache, a small cylindrical camo-pot is hidden under a small rock in the centre of the space formed by a rock jumble beyond the mountain side end of the rocky slab with the frozen finger and at the same height.
Please take care to properly replace the lid and fully close the container (it should click) when replacing the cache to ensure it gets full protection from the elements!
