This is your opportunity to take the road less traveled. It is best accessed by turning north on Frink road from highway 111 south of the border check point. Head south towards Niland.
Respect the desert, use desert precautions.
This cache is placed in recognition of Leap Year 2012.
A quick park and grab. The area is frequented by border patrol, so timing may be necessary.
Bring your own writing stick. A TOT of the trade may be helpful retrieving the log.
The Coachella Canal Road runs along the Coachella Canal from the Glamis Dunes in the south to Lake Cahuilla (near the PGA West Golf Course) in the north. It stretches 122 miles long and can be very rough in areas. The stretch of road that we have placed our caches along is gravel(sometimes bumpy) which is navigable by even a mini van. There is not much traffic on this road as it is used by Canal maintenance workers and border patrol officers.
