This cache is located along the Kimberley Nordic Club (KNC) x-country ski trails, and the KNC is aware that the cache exists. This cache is along Snowbird.
In this area there are many tall, blackened stumps. They are the remnants of giant larch trees that were logged prior to the 1916 fire that swept through this area. The reason that the stumps are so high is because of the bottoms of the trees contained too much pitch to be valuable.
In the summer, this cache is accessible by non-motorized transport.
In the winter, this cache is accessible by x-country skiing or snowshoeing on the KNC trails. Note that winter access requires a trail pass.
