Geocache Description:

The Cache Is A Micro Hidden Where Island Park Used To Be .

" Island Park, built in 1909 on the large island in the Connecticut River between the two bridges to Hinsdale. In addition to a baseball field and grandstand, it included an elaborate amusement pavilion with a ballroom, bowling alleys and a vaudeville stage. After 1911, when the Vernon dam was finished, the island was flooded almost every year. Attractions declined after 1920 and the island was badly damaged by the 1927 flood."
