Geocache Description:

A 35mm pot next to Moulton Pocket Park.

From the Northamptonshire website:
History of the park
Moulton Pocket Park originated when a local farmer decided to sell a section of fallow land for the building of houses and donated an adjacent acre of his land for the villagers to use as a Pocket Park.
Moulton Parish Council and tutors from Moulton College set up a committee whose aim was to recreate a traditional hay meadow for study purposes for the enjoyment of villagers. It is dedicated to the memory of Mr Busby who grazed his animals on the site.

How the volunteers manage the park
This site is an old fashioned hay meadow with a stream and surrounding wetland habitat of considerable value. There is a delightful village vista of church and grazing ponies from the park. A hedgerow has been planted and a mixture of trees commonly found in Northamptonshire.
There is a new dipping platform sponsored by River Nene Regional Park. As part of the management of the wildflower hay meadow, pathways are marked out during the growing season, so that visitors may experience the meadow close up without trampling on the flowers and grasses.
The lower meadow area is left to grow, flower and finally set seed before a hay crop is taken in late August. All cuttings are removed to keep fertility low, which encourages a wide range of meadow flowers. The stream needs to be cleared of excess vegetation in the autumn.
