Geocache Description:

This cache was placed as close to the Providence River Bridge as possible without violating any placement guidelines AND finding a decent spot for a hide.

The Providence River Bridge is one of the only tied network arch bridges in the United States. Its unique design and construction makes this bridge worth visiting, especially at night. There is a small paved walking path along the river here with several restaurants and bars located nearby. Along the pathway are informational signs about the area and the bridge construction. The India Point Park closes at 9pm.

The construction method to build this bridge was not unique to this area as the Point Street Bridge just several hundred feet to the north was also built off site and floated into place on barges.
