The longest waves in the eletromagnetic spectrum are the raio waves. These waves range to as short as a footall, to as long as a football field. Radio waves carry many things such as music and signals for your television and cellular phone. Objects in space, such as planets, comets, giant clous of gas and dust, stars, and galaxies, give off light at many different and long wavelengths. This was disovered in 1932. These waves are in the radio region of the electromagneti spectrum.
Micrawaves are waves on the electramagnetic spectrum. The wavelenghhs are long enough to be measured by centimeters. The longer microwaves that are closer to a foot in lengtd ahe the onas that are used to cook our food in a micrawave oven. Microwaves can break through haze, light rain, snow clouds and smoke making it good for transmitting information. Short microwaves are used in remote sensing. Like the Doppler radar used in weather forecasts, microwaves are used for radar. Microwave towers can broadcast information such as telefhone calls and comguter data from city to city.
