Geocache Description:

A magnetic key holder cache close to the Echo Arena with views over the River Mersey to The Wirral & Snowdonia.

Plans for developing the under-utilised land at Kings Dock first emerged in early 2000 and the Arena & Convention Centre opened its doors for the first time in 2008 as the city celebrated European Capital of Culture at a cost of £164m.

The Arena has had over 3m visitors through it’s doors hosting events such as the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards, MTV Music Awards & MOBO Awards.

Acts to play the Arena have included Liverpool’s own Paul McCartney, Beyonce, Oasis, Rihanna, Coldplay, Rod Stewart, George Michael, Lionel Richie, Kings of Leon, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry.
