What's a Splawn? Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Reviewer Revan: Cache Owner (CO) has not responded, so I am regretfully archiving this cache to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking new cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace this cache sometime in the future (not to exceed 10 days from the date of this entry), just contact me (by e-mail), and assuming it still meets the current Guidelines, I will consider unarchiving this cache.

Please be advised this is not a guarantee that this geocache will be unarchived. Many factors will go into my decision. The most important of which is how you responded to geocachers who tried to communicate with you regarding the problem(s) with this geocache hide and how you communicated with me, the Reviewer Revan.

Geocache Description:

You are looking for a small well camo'd container that fits right in with the location. There's only room for a log so make sure you bring a pen. Long time cachers should have no real problems finding this one. Those new guys might scratch their head for a bit.

This is close to where I live so I drive by here on a daily basis. When I moved in I didn't really think much about the name of the place but the other day I was a bit bored so decided to see what a "splawn" was. I tried looking it up on the net and found only that it was a family name. Strange, I thought since most names came from something that person or family did back in the old, old days so what did these people do that caused this name?. If anyone has a better explantion I'd sure appreciate it if you'd tell me. Also if you have any weird names you can share them with the group and give bored cachers something to look up on rainy days.

There's only an average amount of muggle traffic so it should be fairly easy for you to park and grab. Also, please place the cache exactly where you found it.

Congrat to Iphoneaddict for FTF!
