Down this road is San Diego County's only USDA certified organic lavender farm. Keys Creek Lavender Farm (previously known as The Lavender Fields) has more than two dozen varieties of lavender planted in fields with more than 45,000 plants spread over eight acres of land. The farm uses steam-distillation (they have three distillers, a 77-gallon, an 18 gallon, and a 2 quart tabletop) to make essential oils. About 32 ounces of oil are extracted from 400 pounds of lavender plant.
