Geocache Description:

The second in a series of railroad themed caches highlighting places both current and historical along Northern Indiana railroads.

"Clear signal, Raber" is what you might hear on a radio when a train passes through this tiny hamlet in Eastern Whitley County. While today Raber consists only of a couple houses and the Raber Elevator Co., at one time it also included both a freight house and depot serving the Nickel Plate Road and then Norfolk and Western Railway up until the early 1970's

The original Raber depot was replaced after WWII with the structure pictured below.

In 1971, the depot was purchased from the Norfolk and Western Railway and moved onto a farm 1.4 miles west of its original location. A small addition was later added on to the original building.
