Geocache Description:

Bridge From The Past - BFTP

This is bit of a hike & bushwhack, and your shoes and pants may get wet and dirty.

Coming from the parking lot, the most direct route to the cache has a steep drop off. Keep your eyes open and the kids close by as you descend to the water. After crossing the creek there is a hill that reminds me of CF30 and her Roman friends. You are looking for a plastic PB jar, about 6 inches high and 4 inches in diameter.

Flashback: This cache reminds me of CF30's "Roman Temples?" As my son and I crested a hill in West Tyson I realized we were one big descent and then one big climb from GZ. I let him read the cache page. Here is what CF30 wrote. "Make no mistake – this can be evil, nasty, curse-me-every-foot-of-the-way-as-you-tumble-a**-over-tea-kettle-down-the-hill type terrain." My son smiled and we were excited about the upcoming descent and climb for CF30's cache. We loved the whole adventure and finding the container. Thanks for a great cache and the great memories CF30.

Now for this cache. When you get to where you can see the stones in the creek, the kid in you may be excited to realize that can descend, then cross the water, and then climb a hill. You might be lucky and cross the water by rock-hopping and not get wet, or you may get your ankles and boots wet. IF YOU HAVE ANY TRICKS TO THE CROSSING PLEASE KEEP THEM TO YOURSELF AND DO NOT PUT THEM IN YOUR LOG. On the other side you'll have a climb. I hope you are excited to see the challenge, and not deterred by the curse me every foot of the way terrain. Wear shoes you can afford to get wet. Wear pants you can afford to get dirty. Wear a smile for an adventure that is far better than sitting at home watching TV.

Additional: I left my lucky yellow off-roading 4-wheeler at the cache so the lucky FTF can drive back to the parking lot!

Good luck, and happy caching!

The old bridge is from 1929
