Geocache Description:

It is near a soccer field that you will find this micro. The location is not hard to get to and the cache is not hard to find, but depending upon the time of day & season, you may find yourself surrounded by muggles and their fans who may question someone subtly looking for this cache. So, we rated it as a two for difficulty simply because it may require a clandestine approach.

Note: no need to cross the fence! The cache is inside the fenced-in soccer area and not close to the train track!

This is a cache in honor of all those soccer moms, dads and siblings out there! People who support their children/sisters/brothers year in and year out while their loved ones are involved with youth sports! These are the people who can be found sitting on the side of the field when the snow and winds are calling or in the heat of summer when the skeeters and the fire ants are out in force. These are the people who cheer and console and praise and mend... who keep the uniforms clean and the players fed... who support the coach and try to keep comments about the parentage of the ref to a polite minimum...

This park continues to evolve and grow as soccer’s popularity has grown… and why not? It is a healthy sport for both young and “older” bodies… teaches teamwork and discipline… it is played throughout the world and we have some of the best teams in the Great State of South Carolina that play right here! Thanks in part to the fine facilities and the people who upkeep them!

One of the groups playing on these fields at any given time is the South Carolina United Football Club (SCUFC). SCUFC is affiliated with the South Carolina Youth Soccer Association and offers soccer programs for boys and girls from 3-19 years of age.

One additional tidbit about soccer: A penalty card is used in soccer as a means of warning, reprimanding or penalizing a player, coach or team official. Penalty cards are most commonly used by referees to indicate that a player has committed an offense. The referee will hold the card above his or her head while looking or pointing towards the player that has committed the offense. The color of the card used by the official indicates the type or seriousness of the offence and the level of punishment that is to be applied. A yellow card is a warning. A red card usually means that the player has been ejected from the field… Be careful looking for this cache or be prepared for a red card from the nearby muggles if you start acting geo-strangely in the vicinity of the pitch!
