Geocache Description:

This Cache is located at the South-West rim of the Rub’Al Khali Desert, The Empty Quarter. As the name of the area suggests, the terrain is extremely sandy and rocky, so the cache can only be accessed by 4WD and some climbing.(No rope required).

The Cache is made up of a child’s Hash T-Shirt, a pocket travel guide of Saudi Arabia, a can of baked beans, an emergency ‘survival’ kit, a Hash House Harriers sticker, three Red Sea shells, a New Zealand good luck Tiki, an Aussie car sticker, a packet of noodles, a sachet of re-hydration mixture, a cassette of Scottish songs, a log sheet and a pencil. All sealed in a black plastic and cylindrical container.

HOW TO FIND IT: The co-ordinates will take you to a rocky outcrop with a two-metre cairn at its highest point (if the cairn is not visible from the ground, it means that it has been vandalised). Climb to the cairn, or its remains, and look West where you should be able to see a three-metre hole in another rocky outcrop no more than two kms away. Climb the rock and walk to the hole-end that is facing the cairn. The Cache is hidden, covered with small rocks, 35 paces away.
