Pendant la révolution on plantait des arbres comme symbole de la liberté. L'arbre de Vigneux a été planté en 1793. Endommagé par l'armée Prussienne en 1870, il fut abbatu en 1905 à l'occasion de la fête communale.Un chêne lui succéda en 1969 puis, en 1993, on planta un Magnolia grandiflora qui est encore là aujourd'hui..
