This is part of a series of caches placed by us to draw people's attention to the local time capsules in the Cairns area. IMPORTANT - To retrieve this cache you will require a strong magnet, if you don't have one then unfortunately you won't be able to get this cache.
If you walk into the lower level of the council building through the large steel gates from Spence Street you will notice one large paver that is different from the rest. Under this paver lies a time capsule.
The capsule was sealed on 4 June 1999 to commemorate Queensland Day celebrations. It contains 45 items contributed by a wide cross-section of the community, with special messages to the people of Cairns and district in the year 2099.
This is a traditional cache however reviewer refused to list it as such due to the need for a "special tool". We apologise for any confusion.
