Geocache Description:

San Paolo è la chiesa che caratterizza Piazza Garibaldi. Romanica della fine del XI secolo.
Ha sempre attirato la mia attenzione il campanile che svetta alto e solitario nel cielo di Cantù (per chi non ci è mai stato consiglio l'arrivo a piedi da Via Manzoni). Originariamente torre in pietra del castello Pietrasanta, edificato a difesa del colle più alto del borgo di Canturio, venne completato con una cella campanaria in mattoni.

San Paolo is the church that characterizes Piazza Garibaldi. Romanesque, end of eleventh century.
It has always caught my attention the bell tower that stands tall and alone in the sky of Cantù (to whom there has never been I recommend to come in by foot from Via Manzoni). Originally stone tower of Pietrasanta castle, built to defend the highest hill of the Canturio village, it was completed with a brick belfry.

Dalla terrazza si domina la Piazza con sullo sfondo le Alpi. Scendendo dalla bella scalinata, se si è fortunati, al tramonto si può ben vedere lo skiline del Gruppo del Rosa che fa bella mostra di sè nella prospettiva di Via Manzoni.
From the terrace the view of the square with the background of the Alps. Descending the beautiful staircase, if you're lucky, during the sunset, you may see the skiline of the Group of Rosa from the perspective of Via Manzoni.
