This little cemetery is the remains of an early pioneer cemetery used by some local families. When the Ayr Cemetery was created 1877, most of the graves were moved there. A few scattered stones and graves where never moved. When the road was widened in the 1970’s a gravestone of young girl was found and it is assumed that the grave remains perhaps under the now widened road. This stone as well as a small group of fragmented stones lay leaned against a tree. A Mr. Seegmiller (2008) stated that the cemetery was leveled and the ground examined for evidence of graves. He stated that few graves where located there, although the land close to the widened road probably contained many of the original burial locations. The young girl whose stone survives is Susannah Kinzie, b. 10 Apr 1851 died 13 Sep 1852 and was the daughter of Jacob Kinzie and Susannah Stauffer. This family moved to Michigan and the grave with no one to claim, remained unmoved and forgotten until the earth movers unearthed the stone.
