This cache is located downstream of North Branch Falls on the North Branch Oromocto River. I had overlooked these falls several months ago when I was actively placing caches at alot of falls in the Oromocto River watershed.
During a conversation with my good friend Dustywalker I came to find out that Cache Crow had plans to place a cache here and that I was not to be told of his plans. (Well, he was right, I had missed it after all).
That was all I needed to hear! I took a second look and there they were. Not to chance losing the opportunity I set out to place this during spring breakup.
Access the area via the Peltoma Lake Road south-west of Tracy. Travel approx 10 kms south and turn N/W onto the logging road at wpt 1. This road should be passable to most vehicles most of the year. Parking coords are provided just before 2 washouts that cannot be traversed by cars. From prkg it is approx 3.2 kms one way to the cache. Follow the trail to the falls, and then your GPSr downstream to the cache location. The cache is on the south side of the river.
There is good canoeing for the more adventurous types in the spring, along with some trout fishing. There is an unactivated geocoin for the FTF. Enjoy.
