A small camo'ed Lock & Lock.
I'd lived in the Berkshires most of my life without ever knowing that the Housatonic River Valley WMA even existed. This is the first section I came to, I was looking for Wildlife management area with paulinka65. It's the oldest active cache in Berkshire County. This is a 'half way' cache, with parking coordinates that we could have used that day.
This WMA has many different sections from this one where the East and West Braches join to form the Housatonic River to Woods Pond in Lenox. There are at least five marked canoe accesses and many parking areas. It is also home to two of my favorite paddle caches, Bloodsuckapond and You've Got A Problem...
Across the West Branch is Fred Garner Park which has been home to many caches through the years. Between the Housatonic and the East Branch is a section of this WMA that has yet to have a cache. It is accessible but parking is limited.
This section is unique in that it has well established trails and many thirty inch pines, oaks and maples. It obviously hasn’t been logged in a long time. Unfortunately the trees rarely get bigger than thirty six inches before they come down on there own, a waist of valuable timber.
Congratulations to Froedo Bagginz, Lasa (HostaHead), WolfTamer! and Windwaker on the FTF!
