Geocache Description:

Although this is located on a quiet road, the cache and the start of the footpath is located on the crown of the bend so great caution should be exercised especially for those with children and caching hounds. As of mid May 2012 the Ivy covered post has had a 'Haircut' and is now just a post! Cache is still in place though.

A series of varied caches that will take you on a 2.4 mile linear walk between Kirkby on Bain and Tatershall Thorpe.
There is only limited parking at either end of the footpath and I would suggest starting at this, the Kirkby on Bain end as there is parking available for a couple of cars on verges close to the start of the footpath, please DO NOT block any access to the farmers fields.
There are pleasant 'Hostelries' situated near to either end of the footpath which could tie in quite nicely with a sunny afternoons stroll there and back regardless of which end you choose to start.

This is also a brilliant walk for wildlife with birds of the field and farm land, lakes and rivers and woodland, you may also be lucky enough to see Roe deer as I did when laying the caches.

There is deep water at several places along this footpath so parents with small children please keep a close eye on them especially between the 'Fishing Pits' and 'Danger Deep Water' caches where there is a fishermans boardwalk with a rail only along one side, please don't let this put you off as this is a great walk and just requires a little more supervision.

The footpath from just after the Y Junction cache up to the 'Danger Deep Water' is mostly fenced in as trucks still use this for access to the gravel pits, also to avoid annoying the anglers please keep your dogs on a leash and keep the noise to a minimum between these points. If you have read this far then you might like to know that the cache you are looking for here is a black plastic magnetic micro.

P.S. A log extraction tool will be very useful in a lot of cases.
