Cache is placed very close to the summit of Langi Ghiran.
We placed this cache when we did a hike from the reservoir to the highest peak.
2wd parking is available at the campground at the end of Kartuk Rd but the track is a little rougher if you go any further and becomes management vehicles only about 1km past the reservoir.
There are many ways to access the peak and off track walking is permitted in this park but the easiest way is via Easter Creek Track. Follow the track towards the peak until the rock cairn on the left that marks the the best route to head off the track towards the highest peak.
From here it gets a little tougher to walk and requires some rock scrambling towards the end but nothing too serious.
As with any remote areas this hike should only be attempted by someone experienced with remote hiking and making the proper preparations for the trip. There are cliffs and very slippery sections and the weather can change for the worse very quickly any time of year.
Wedge-tailed Eagles are often seen soaring the higher peaks here and we were lucky enough to have 4 very close today.
I would expect it to take 2hrs for a fit person if walking from the reservoir to the summit via Easter Creek Track.
