This is the second of two caches placed for the event, DGS: St Patrick's Day Meet 'N' Greet. I know that not everyone likes to go searching underground for caches...so I placed this "pot of gold" in a friendlier area for those who enjoy a nice, relaxing hike.
I found this spot while out looking for a stage of another cache. It was so peaceful and reminded me of my dad, that I had to return. As I sat there in this green, secluded area, I felt like I was back in my childhood again. I was sitting on a large fallen log looking up at one of the largest trees I have ever seen. It's not just large...it's humongous. I loved it. The whole area reminds me of Ireland. Ivy everywhere, and it's so green. I liked looking up at the tree and watching the vines and ivy winding around and surrounding it...going up as far as I could see. I could almost hear my dad talking to me again, and it made me miss him. I found the whole experience peaceful and wanted to come back. That is why I chose this area to place a cache. Two reasons really...it means I'll have to come back to check on it, and I can share it with others. St Patrick's Day has always been my favorite, because it was my dad's birthday. This area reminds me of him so what better place for a St Patrick's Day hide? I hope you find the beauty in that small secluded area as I did!
Warning: There is a lot of common English ivy around GZ. Although quite different from poison ivy, English ivy can cause allergic reactions in a small proportion of the population.English Ivy
