Little Canfield Loop - Narrow Crossing. Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

MAD DOG BOND: This loop has been around for a while now and has had quite a few visits. Unfortunately, we just don't have the time to keep them in tip-top condition so we are archiving the series. Sorry!

Geocache Description:

This is one of nine caches placed in a loop in the countryside around Little Canfield & Hope End Green. It was 8, but I added one and moved another as well as changing all of the containers and logbooks!
You are looking for a large, screw top tub.

Please be careful when the bridge is wet - it will be slippery underfoot. Use the hand rail!

The caches in this series are:
1. Little Canfield Loop - Old Stumpy - GC3EG54.
2. Little Canfield Loop - Stile - ish - GC3EG57.
3. Little Canfield Loop - Take A Pew - GC3EG5C.
4. Little Canfield Loop - Field View - GC3EG5F.
4A. Little Canfield Loop - Blown Apart - GC5Q1TR.
5. Little Canfield Loop - Narrow Crossing - GC3EG5M.
6. Little Canfield Loop - Gate Post - GC3EG5P.
7. Little Canfield Loop - Split Oak - GC3EG5W.
8. Little Canfield Loop - 10 Trunk Tree - GC3EG5Z.

Little Canfield Loop.

This loop will take you on a walk of over 3.5 miles over the fields and streams of the Essex countryside between Hope End Green & Little Canfield, where you will (hopefully) collect 9 caches.
This series is all off road, on footpaths, bridleways and uneven tracks (which resemble swamps in the winter months!), and is therefore unsuitable for buggies and wheelchairs – sorry about that!

As you are bimbling around the fields, keep your eyes peeled for a herd of deer that frequents these parts – hard to miss as one of them is completely white!

We recommend that you park at the suggested coordinates before setting off.

You will then need to walk about 100 yards to the start of your journey – the entrance to the Flitch Way – an old railway line that used to run between Bishop’s Stortford & Braintree and has now been turned into a country park.

While attempting this series, you may also want to collect a few of the nearby Flitch Way caches as well: The Boring Place – GCVAMQ; A Bridge To Nowhere - GCVB9C; Church Micro 439 – Little Canfield - GC1KM4W and The Takeley Heathen Stone - GC1VBN7 to name but a few.

It doesn’t matter which way round you do the series, as you start and finish in the same place!

Good luck!

FTF honours go to 'geogareth' congratulations.
