The first of six caches on a bridle path that runs for about 2 miles from Stockley Hill to Shenmore taking in a panoramic view of northern Herefordshire and beyond. ***IF YOU ARE STARTING AT THE SHENMORE END AND MAKING THIS THE LAST CACHE, THE BRIDLEWAY TO NUMBER 6 FROM THE PARKING PLACE IS NOW COMPLETELY BLOCKED BUT THERE IS ACCESS INTO THE WOOD THROUGH THE FIELD*** Circular clip lock box, room for a few small items, please re-cover with "debris" after replacing, thanks.
The terrain rating given reflects the walk as a whole however the path is mostly level and firm underfoot with the exception of a short steeper section between numbers 5 and 6 (this part can also be VERY muddy). Various trails run through the wood but I recommend staying on the bridle path, the waypoint given is where the path changes direction. There is parking for 1 or 2 cars at either end but please be considerate and park on the verges further along the lanes if necessary. ~~~~~~~~~~Congratulations to Cadtenchy for FTF~~~~~~~
