Geocache Description:

Mead Farm Property
9 am – 12 pm

Come help us celebrate the 10th Annual Cache In Trash Out Weekend!

This Seymour Land Trust (SLT) supported CITO event provides an opportunity to remove garbage and clear established trail paths on the newly acquired Mead Farm Property in Seymour. The Mead Farm property covers 13 acres that include a brook, old stone foundation and some beautiful views of the Naugatuck River. Future trail plans include connecting this property with an additional 9 acres of SLT open space on Bungay Road to create a robust trail system.

The SLT has made it a 2012 goal to provide more well-maintained hiking trails for public use including caching! To help them achieve this goal we’d like to host more of these events throughout the year. It’s a great way to give back to those who support caching and make time to see old friends and meet new ones.

Light refreshments, hand sanitizer, bottled water, rubber gloves, garbage bags and a few trail maintenance tools will be supplied. A town dump truck will be on site to haul away any garbage and trail debris we gather. There are no restrooms available. Please bring, if possible, work gloves, rakes, loppers and any other trail maintenance tools that you think may be useful.

A few new caches will be hidden on the property to mark the event! We will also reach out to some companies in hopes that they will supply swag to be given away to those who attend and help in the clean-up efforts.
