This is a cache located next to an overlook along the Metacomet Trail in East Granby. Park at the intersection of Turkey Hills and Newgate. You can also reach the cache from Mountain Road and Phelps, but you're going to be hiking for a looooong time. As it is, you're looking at about 1.5 miles (30+ minutes) of hiking from the parking area.
This is the first in what should hopefully be a series of caches hidden by nice vistas along hiking trails. From the parking area, it's a short but relatively steep climb to the top of the ridgeline. The trail meanders past a few other caches, over Peak Mountian, then onward toward the overlook where this cache is located. The cache container is a small lock and lock. Please rehide it the way you found it, because I have the feeling this area is host to summertime parties. The cache started out with an unactivated trackable for a FTF prize, and 3 other trackables to move on. There are also some odds and ends for trades. This is my first hide, and I welcome any input.
