A cache hidden deeply in the Deep Cutting, a section of Lancaster Canal that has been dug through glacial deposits to avoid a longer detour. It's a beautiful stretch along the Canal, 2km long and up to 10m deep.
The cache location is along the towpath about halfway between bridges 92 and 93. Both bridges are a bit unusual, one goes nowhere (GC2RT7V), and the other has a broken back (GC2WANA). Nearest parking is either at Brantbeck bridge at the southern end of the cutting, or Ashton Road at the northern end. Don't try to access from Broken Back Lane, it's a narrow lane servicing a farm with no space to leave a car.
The cache is large micro with log, pencil and space for very thin bugs only. If just finding it proves too easy, work out what it contained in its previous life.
