This cache could be fairly difficult if you don't make a game plan before going in, make sure you are wearing good footwear and it would be smart to bring a geo-friend! Placed with the help of good ole chief!
The Nopeming Sanatorium, about 10 miles from Duluth, was opened for tuberculosis patients in 1912. It operated under the direction of a three-member St. Louis County Sanatorium Commission established in 1909. Beginning in 1913, the commission's work was supervised successively by the Advisory Commission of the State Sanatorium for Consumptives, the State Board of Control, and the Social Security Department, Social Welfare Division; the state provided an operating subsidy. Nursing home patients began to be admitted, in 1957 and the facility ceased to be a tuberculosis sanatorium and became the Nopeming Nursing Home in 1971. The financially troubled county-owned facility's name changed in 2000 to Nopeming Care Center, closing in 2002
