A little history of the area:
Around 1865 Perry W. McAdow was the first recorded owner of this land. In 1866 McAdow and partner Thomas Cover finished construction of the Gallatin Flour Mill (most likely adjacent to Mill Creek) in order to use the water as power. McAdow also built his private residence here. The property changed hands in the early 1880's and in the early 20th century was a dairy farm owned by T.H. Tiedema and H. Cook. Beginning in the 1940's, Stephen Sande, followed by Norman Sande, also operated a dairy here. The property had largely been abandoned for years prior to 2002 when the Village Downtown development began.
