Capelas, é uma vila na Costa Norte da Ilha de São Miguel. Ficou conhecida pela caça à baleia, tendo iniciado esta atividade em meados do século XIX e cessado no ano de 1974. Próximo do local onde se encontra a cache, existe o lugar designado por Poços, onde funcionou uma fábrica de óleo e farinha de baleia, hoje em ruinas. De fronte, o pequeno caís foi convertido numa zona balnear muito procurada.
Capelas, is a village on the North Shore of the Island of Sao Miguel. He was known for whaling, which started this activity in the mid-nineteenth century and ended in 1974. Near the location of the cache, there is a place of Wells, where he ran an oil mill and flour whale, now in ruins. In front, the small pier was converted into a very popular bathing area.
