Biss Meadows is easily accessible from the town and the surrounding housing. The asphalt paths are suitable for wheelchair access and cycling is also permitted.
Biss Meadows is a pleasant public open space in the south east part of Trowbridge. The north east part is grass land with a pond and asphalt paths. The south west part is flood plain with scrapes. These are shallow depressions with gently sloping edges, which seasonally hold water. They support a variety of aquatic insects that encourages waders, swans and the occasional heron. Whilst the wild flowers throughout the site attract other insects and birds such as the beautiful kingfisher. Through the site runs the Biss River, a chalk river bringing spring water from Salisbury Plain.
