Rocklea Soup Bowl Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Whint & Bad Dal: I went to replace logbook but I could not find the cache, only the log on the ground. I look over to our old shop and the green Rock has moved further down the road and over the other side...the dog park has gone as well. I am not sure when I would get back here to replace full cache and don't have one with me so I will archive this one.

Thanks to all those who found this one... It's time to close this sad chapter of my life and move on to better things :)

Geocache Description:

Large micro hidden in a suburban park

In January 2011 Brisbane and surrounding areas were hit with a massive flood. We were one of the lucky ones who did not live in the flooding areas... unfortunately we were unlucky enough to have our business and livelihood right in the thick of it :( Our little shop was under 4.8 metres of water... we lost it all! Insurance did not pay out and eventually we had to close our little business of 10 years and start all over again.

This creek just near this park was the culprit... Stable Swamp Creek.... looks innocent enough but give it a bit of extra water and she rises quickly... but not usually like 2011.

There is a fenced dog off leash run park for the geopooch, no play equipment for the geokids though.

Just over from this park there is a private road that is lined with businesses.... that is where we were.... we will have images forever etched our memories... and we will never forget our time here. When you get to GZ, if you look down toward Ipswich road way you will see a big green boulder.... that was us!

I decided to put this cache here in memory of our business, who drowned in the 2011 big wet.... RIP
It is not a spectacular cache in a spectacular location but it has meaning to me... unfortunately as it does flash flood here on occasion I could not put it where I would have liked to.... so I settled for this as it might be a little safer? Time shall tell!

You are looking for an eclipse tin, holds a log and a small gift for the FTF - obviously being a eclipse tin there isn't alot of room and seeing as the area does flood I do not recommend putting trackables here. BYO pen

FTF honours go to Goldielover & Stairman1 - congrats :)
