This is a daytime ONLY cache.
Please DO NOT block the gateway, as there will at times be significant traffic going in and out.
Please observe from the road only. While I know many of you and would normally be happy to visit with you, this is a jobsite and safest from a distance.
For the last 5 years my employer and I have been preparing to build him a new house. We have been using the sawmill that he has to process our own and locally procured trees into timbers and lumber for a timber frame home. After much planning and preparation we will finally get the visible portion of the project under way this spring.
In fact, our unseasonably warm spring has allowed us to start the initial stages of preparation and demolition. In the past week we have brought a trailer on site for Bob to live in during construction, taken down a large maple tree beside the house and started to ready the garage for removal and re-location. As the weeks progress we will strip and remove topsoil from the site, remove the steel roof, demolition the existing house (wieners and marshmallows anyone?), excavate and pour the foundation, assemble and erect the timber frame and close it in (hopefully all before the snow flies!).
The cache is an ammo can, placed at the end of the windbreak beside the gateway. Inside is a disposable camera. Please take a picture of the house/construction site and help us document the process. If you take the last picture, let me know so that I can swap out for a new camera.
If you're interested in seeing the various stages of the project place a watch on this cache. I will be making note of when significant milestones will take place.
As stated earlier, please DO NOT block the gateway, there is ample room either north or south of the gateway to safely get off to the side of the road.
