Geocache Description:

Been wanting to place a cache at this spot for a while. Would always be dark out whenever I passed by. Finally made it to area in daylight.

The cache is placed overlooking I-70 with a great view of the Flint Hills, located at Exit 316. However DO NOT PARK along I-70 or the exit ramp. There is plenty of parking available as you round the exit ramp. There will be a short hike to GZ, nothing to brag about. To get to this location, travel east/west along I-70 between the towns of Junction City/Topeka, KS. Once you see the signs indicating EXIT 316/DEEP CREEK ROAD, take that exit.

DEEP CREEK ROAD is named for the creek that the interstate passes over just to the east of this location - thus the name for the cache. IF you continue following the exit ramp, eventually you will intersect Deep Creek Road AND will see the creek (if water in it) not too far away. Both the road and creek travel roughly in a north/south direction. IF you want to know how DEEP this CREEK is, well since you think that you are snarky and brave, go check it out and let everyone know!!

Terrain at this location can be desceptively unstable during inclement weather. Found that out for myself while scouting the area for a hiding spot when a rock outcropping collapsed from under me after a rainstorm. Left behind some skin, blood, and part of a finger nail. Safety considerations are primary reason for the higher terrain rating, though it is more than likely a 2 at most, so all you "D/T experts" have a nice day.

Cache container that you will be searching for is a small DECON. Cache placed along the face of that rock outcropping - may be easy for some a bit more difficult for others. Inside a sort of a teeny-tiny "cave".

For those visitors that are concerned about what COUNTY you are standing in; the cache IS just inside GEARY COUNTY while the parking area is in RILEY COUNTY.
