Geocache Description:

Small plastic tube 1cm x 7cm

A series of gates were once installed along the canal to prevent motor cycles using the towpath. I think the gates had some sort of lock that enabled wheelchair users to open them. It appears that the gates have now mainly broken and been removed - too expensive to maintain I guess. .

There's a pub and a cafe not far from here if you are feeling in need of refreshments. For the cafe, just walk over the canal bridge and it's on the next road junction, about 20 meters away at a guess.

A series of caches along Coventry Canal in yes, you’ve guessed it, Coventry. This is a canal so you’ll have water on one side of you, unless you get lost. Keep kids on a lead. Don’t be surprised if there’s a bit of rubbish around – it’s an urban canal. It’s good for people interested in industrial archaeology and history and has an art trail on it too. If you are looking for a quiet walk in the country then it’s not for you. I could fill the cache page with lots of information but that’s what Wiki is for.
